Illowa FCA’s vision is to see the world transformed by Jesus Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.
The ten-year target for Illowa FCA is to have at least one Coach for Christ trained, encouraged, and equipped by FCA staff, in every school community (HS, MS, College) and elite amateur and professional sports clubs. “Every coach. Every Team.”
The three-year picture is to grow the budget from $400,000 to $825,000 with the addition of staff, resources, and other ministry needs. We plan to expand our administrative team from two full-time and one part-time to six full-time. We will also increase our Board Members from 14 to 45 along with our Tom Landry Donors ($10,000+ annually) from five to 30. In three years the goal is to have 150 Coaches for Christ throughout our 20-county area.
Implementing a yearly Legacy Dinner and Partner Drive event is crucial to underwriting this growth through sponsorships, and increasing our AMP (Automatic Monthly Partner) donors.
Jackie Joyner-Kersee, winner of six Olympic Medals, is considered by ESPN to be one of the 50 Great Athletes of All Time, and was voted Female Athlete of the 20th Century by Sports Illustrated for Women. She is the first woman to win back-to-back gold medals in the heptathlon, the first African American woman to win an Olympic Medal in the long jump, and the first woman to score 7,000 points in the heptathlon.
Born and raised in East St. Louis, Jackie is committed to ensuring that all children have access to high quality after-school programs, safe recreational places within their communities, and caring adults to help them achieve their dreams. Jackie is the heart and soul of this organization, and serves as living proof that kids in East St. Louis can dare to dream big and if they have the drive and determination, they can accomplish anything they desire.
By being a Legacy Sponsor, you are invited to a meet and greet with Jackie Joyner-Kersee, one hour prior to the Legacy Dinner. A legacy sponsor has given $1,200+ to ILLOWA FCA, in a year.
