What is Fellowship of Christian Athletes?

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives…one heart at a time.  Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ.  FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.

The ILLOWA FCA Area includes 20 counties running along the Mississippi River on both the Illinois and Iowa sides!

Dan Pearson  - Area Director (563) 349-3445

Area Director Dan Pearson joined the Illowa FCA team in 2011 after 29 years as a television sports anchor and reporter. Dan and his wife, Gina, live in Geneseo, Illinois.  They have two grown daughters who were both involved in FCA throughout their high school days. The Pearsons love spending time with their family and enjoy their role as grandparents. 

Tim Schneckloth - Quad City Area Rep./3D Presenter

Area Representative and 3D Coaching Presenter Tim Schneckloth was born and raised in Eldridge, Iowa.  Tim graduated from St. Ambrose University in 1991. After owning and operating a small business for a brief time, Tim joined the ILLOWA FCA Team in 1999.  He is excited about his new role as 3-Dimensional Coaching Presenter, while still serving as an Area Rep.  Tim and his wife, Brandi, live in Eldridge, Iowa.  The Schneckloth's have three daughters, who are still in school.  The family loves to spend their weekends skiing at Chestnut Mountain Resort in Galena, Illinois, where Tim is a certified ski instructor!

Marc Polite - Quad City Area Representative

Marc Polite joined the team this past fall as an area representative for the Quad Cities.  Marc brings a wealth of experience as a former coach and athlete.  Marc lives in his hometown of East Moline, IL where he taught and coached for over a decade.  Marc is married to his wife LaShonda.  They enjoy spending quality time with their two children Marc Jr. (MJ) and Alexandra.  Marc is a coach who loves to teach and inspire.  Marc and LaShonda also serve on the leadership board of their church (Life Church) in East Moline, IL. 

Tony Spranger - Area Representative

Tony was born and raised in the Quad Cities.  Tony was a 1996 graduate of Moline and Amber graduated from Rock Island that same year.  he met Amber at a local bible study the summer of their junior year and they were married in 1998. After graduating with a degree in Youth Ministry from North Central University,  they moved home with their first son, Caleb.  They now have 4 children,  Caleb, Joshua, Benjamin and Rebekah.  He has been in the youth ministry for 15 years and joins our team after serving at Osco Community Church for the past 10 years.  While serving at Osco, Tony was the 8th grade girls basketball coach for 8 years in the Orion school district.  Tony will be serving 5 counties south of the Quad Cities and looks forward to serving those counties with a shepherd’s heart and an excitement for this new ministry opportunity! 


Angie VanderVinne - Administrative Asstistant 

Angie has been married to her HS sweetheart Darrel since 1992, and they live in Morrison with their two kids Faith and Camden.  Angie’s career has been spent in the banking/insurance/financial industries and Darrel now works for the City of Morrison after having worked 29 years at a grain elevator.  The VanderVinne family enjoys spending time together and with their neighbors playing games and grilling out.  Angie's favorite book of the Bible (other than the Gospel) is Esther.  Esther 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?
